Ernest Hemingway in Kansas City

Kansas City Now

Many of the buildings in present-day downtown Kansas City were built after Hemingway’s brief stint as a reporter for the Kansas City Star but he could have seen some of the following on his brief return to the city in 1940, when he stayed at the Muehlebach Hotel and granted an interview to his old newspaper. Some he would never have seen and photos of them are included here simply to give an impression of Kansas City today.
